Food for All Our Tomorrows
Tucked away on a hillside in Japan is a unique school, the Asian Rural Institute. It’s a green school, one committed to sustainable farming where grassroots people can learn and share ideas for building a better world. In Food for All Our Tomorrows, Poems on Seed, Soil, and Sustainability , twenty-nine Japanese-inspired poems with watercolor illustrations invite readers into an environment where life is sustained by seeds and soil and enriched by community.
The 40-page soft cover book honors ARI’s commitment to create an environment whose motto is “That We May Live Together.”
With spot illustrations by watercolor artist Susan Rock, and translation by Yuko Emura, the book highlights the essence of the multi-cultural training institute known as the Asian Rural Institute in Tochigi, Japan. The poems focus on organic farming, sustainability, servant leadership, community, and the harvest.
